Leczenie protetyczne zawsze wiązało się z koniecznością odpowiedniego przestrzennego ustawienia modelu szczęki i żuchwy pacjenta wymagającego uzupełnienia protetycznego, tak aby to ustawienie odpowiadało rzeczywistości oraz umożliwiało prawidłowe i powtarzalne odtworzenie aspektów estetycznych i czynnościowych. W tym celu wykorzystywano tak zwane „łuki twarzowe” – narzędzia, które odnoszą się do charakterystycznych punktów na czaszce, pomocnych do zamocowania łuku wraz z widelcem. Sytuacja ta stwarza problemy, których nie udało się jak dotąd rozwiązać i które bliżej przedstawimy. |

The requirement for maxillo-facial prosthetists has always been to spatially orient the model of the mouth for which a prosthesis is going to be prepared in a correct way, consistent with reality, with the aim to reproduce aesthetic and functional aspects adequately and consistently. To do this, from the outset, so-called "face bows" have been used: instruments that use cranial landmarks (nasion - glabella and ear canals) as anchors of the arch including the fork used to receive the impressions of the dental arches. All this poses problems, never resolved, that we are going to highlight. |
